Beef fillet in a puff pastry wrapper

Method

This is an old-fashioned recipe – a cut of beef cooked with love, with vegetables and spices, until it softens and falls apart with a fork. A combination of deep flavors, juiciness, and aromas that leave no one indifferent.

Ingredients:

  • 800 grams whole beef fillet
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 package of puff pastry dough
  • 1 large onion
  • 2–3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg for brushing (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Rosemary or thyme (for aroma)

How to prepare:

Quickly grilling the meat:

  • Dry the fillet thoroughly, season with salt and pepper.
  • Sear on all sides in a hot pan with olive oil, 1–2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  • Remove from heat and spread with mustard. Cool.

Assembling the dish:

  • Roll out the dough on baking paper.
  • Roll to close completely. Seal the edges.
  • Brush with egg (if using).

Baking:

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Bake for about 30–40 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and beautiful.

Serving:

  • Let the dish rest for 10–15 minutes before cutting to preserve juiciness.
